What’s in a name?

It’s not always easy to love those who don’t love you… to go into dark places and hold onto those that others have deemed unlovable… to give up what you have for the sake of another. It’s not always easy, clean, or pretty to follow the call God has on your life to live love and be love to this messed up world.

Sometimes, when it comes to love, you have to get a little bit dirty…

What We’re Doing

My husband, Brook, and I have moved back to the country of Thailand, where we plan on serving for a good portion of our lives ahead.  Our first year in-country was spent primarily as learners, students of the language and culture, in the city of Lopburi, known for it’s history and abundance of monkeys.  Now that our first year of study has been completed, we have moved onto the North side of Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok, and have begun the process of reaching into communities to find out what their needs are, serve them, and plant churches…. all the while still doing language study.  Thai is a tough language, that’s for sure!

We also plan on raising our own little family here in Thailand, which as we’ve just discovered, will begin in August of 2011.  What an adventure that will be when our first little one arrives!  But for now, go ahead and follow us along in what’s going on in our lives today.  Read about our good days and our bad, the differences and similarities between our cultures, and everything from ministry, to local animals, to what color I happen to like on a particular day. I particularly enjoy anything that has to do with the kitchen and what comes out of it, so you may even notice food being a frequent topic.  And, trust me, cooking in Thailand is not the same as your own kitchen back home.  Who knows what will come to mind on any given day, but whatever it is, I want to share it with you.

We’re real people, and though we may be missionaries in another country, we’re just the same as you! :)
